Loving Kindness

There are no two people I love in the world more than I love my girls. Clearly, I thought of them when I was setting the loving kindness bar. It is hard to imagine loving anyone as much as these two, but during the exercise I tried to project that into the universe.
When you are a mom you are always trying to ease your child's pain. That is what I imagined myself dong when I was having negative thoughts. I was telling myself "it is okay to love yourself" and trying to be tender and nurturing.
It was difficult at times, but I can definitely see the benefit of this exercise. You need to remove all those negative emotions and replace them with loving kindness if you wish to go down the path of human flourishing. I think this exercise in beneficial because it allows you to push aside the damaging, negative emotions and lets you bring the loving, positive emotions out.
A mental workout is just as it sounds. You are working your mind. You are making it stronger, faster, wiser and more efficient. You are training your mind to think a certain way. In the topic of human flourishing you are training your mind to get rid of negative and destructive thoughts and replacing them with positive thoughts of loving kindness. Exercises like this, performed regularly, build your mind to reach new heights you never imagined. Just like losing fat and gaining muscle doesn't happen over night, training the mind is a process that needs time, energy and commitment, but in the end it is worth it.
How do I know its worth it, especially since I am not there? I have faith in it.

Rating My Wellness

Analyzing yourself, always so much fun ;)

Physical well-being 7
Spiritual well-being 7
Psychological wee-being 7

I find myself in pretty descent shape. I like to take care of myself. I exercise regularly and follow a healthy lifestyle. There is always room to get better. So my goal is to continue training and eating healthy and always try to be better than I was before.

My spiritual well-being also has room for improvement. So my goal in this area is to take time to focus on my spiritual well-being and try to connect with God.

My psychological well-being I feel is average. I think they way to improve this is to talk to people about my feelings and journal my thoughts. My goals are to think positive, encourage others and love myself more.

In life you are always learning and growing. I find it important to be better than the person you were yesterday and by focusing on your end goal of human flourishing allows you to engage in activities that make you a better person.

Journey of Relaxation

Boy did I need this! I was relaxed for sure. The music was so soothing and in my mind I was seeing the star filled sky I was looking at a few nights back while watching meteors. I was focusing on my breathe as I pushed oxygen and blood through my body to my "sponge-like" muscles. With each breathe I could feel a glow coming off of my body. My body felt very heavy, but I am so sore and tired from working out they feel heavy all the time.
It was a total relaxing yet energizing experience. Afterwards I felt so recharged. It is amazing that 15 minutes of getting away from the physical world and shifting your focus can change your physical state to such a degree. I really enjoyed this exercise. I think this is something that is easy to incorporate into your life on a daily basis. It helps relax you when you are feeling stressed and puts you in a better state of mind. As we have learned your mental state has a significant impact of your physical health. I hope you all had an enjoyable experience.
